On January 19th, 2024, the first day of the Saint Francis High School course registration week begins.
The high school registration week is a time frame where incoming middle school students and continuing high school students sign up for what classes they want for the next school year. Each year students are required to fill out fifteen different courses in Infinite Campus with five different alternative classes in case the student’s can’t get into their first pick.
“You can fill it out for the entire four years,” School Counselor Tammy Sworsky said. “It should be already filled out from Futures Prep, but we want you to all go in and update it and make sure you have the courses that you want.”
Each student’s classes are determined by what they register for. Each course you have taken the previous year impacts the available courses for the upcoming year. To learn more about each class that Saint Francis offers, students can talk with different staff members to get more information.
“There is also the student course guide available for students to look though,” School Counselor Anna Ruel said. “You can read the class description, any prerequisites a class might have, and how long the class is in terms of trimester.”
Registration week was from January 19th to January 26th, but that does not mean that you cannot change your mind after that date. You can edit your class choices until the end of the school year. Students wanting to change their registered courses should schedule an appointment with their counselor.
“It’s really important to go in and complete your academic plan,” Ruel said. “We need to have something to plop you in.”
