Art isn’t easy for everyone; however Daisy Martinsen has been practicing drawing and makeup since she could remember.
Martinsen took first place last year in the annual art show that Deb Paquay and Jen Close (art teachers) put up each year. The art show features one piece of art of the students choice that they have made throughout the trimester.
Daisy enjoys drawing and she has developed her skills since she was young and used them to win the annual art show.
“My drawing was a picture of a girl’s eyes,” said Martinsen.
Other than drawing, Daisy is also really good at makeup. After high school she has plans to go into cosmetology.
“In my free time I prefer to draw and do makeup,” she said.
Daisy is still undecided about where she wants to go for college but is figuring it out.
“I’ve looked into a few colleges,” said Martinsen.
Her other hobbies include listening to music from the band called Pantera. She also enjoys hanging out with her friends and doing their makeup for them and last year, she did the makeup for the Spring musical Into the Woods.
“I’ve done my friends’ makeup a few times,”said Martinsen.
She finds it a little challenging to do her friends’ makeup, just because she doesn’t know what they like and what they don’t.
“I’m hoping to further my career in art and cosmetology,” she said, ” I also want to continue growing, develop new skills, and improve each day.”
