The Activities Office has announced a new tradition that begins tonight at the SFHS vs. Cambridge-Isanti football game.

“We are establishing a ‘trophy game’ and playing for a paddle,” stated Jeff Fink, Activities Director. “The game will be known as ‘the Battle for the Paddle’. We are using the concept of both schools being on the Rum River.”

One side pf the paddle is painted Saints Navy Blue and White and the other side is Cambridge Blue and Red.

SF Alumni Corey Gilbertson brought up the idea and St. Francis Activities Director Jeff Fink asked local woodworker Dave Guinn to make the paddle.

According to Fink, The winning team will be able to paint the year and game score on their side of the paddle and keep the paddle until the next regular season game.

Tonight, SF Superintendent Troy Ferguson and Cambridge-Isanti Activities Director Mark Solberg will introduce the “Game Trophy.”

The winner of tonight’s game will be awarded the paddle from either Mr. Fink or Mr. Solberg in their end zone after the post game handshakes.
