On October 22nd, 2024, in the first round of sections against Cambridge Isanti, Senior wide receiver Owen Lamson broke The Saint Francis most years receiving record and the single season touchdown record.
Blake Moreno held the single season touchdown record for over 10 years with 10 touchdowns before Owen breaking that with 11. Our very own Robbie Whitney held the most receiving yards throughout his 4 years of highschool for 8 years with 627 yards and Owen smashing that with an impressive 755 yards.
Lamson has been playing football since he was 6 years old and has been a favored teammate among his peers and coaches.
“Whatever I need to do to have our team succeed I will be willing to do it,” said Lamson
He participated in many camps over the summer. When Owen wasn’t on the field you would have found him in the weightroom. Over the summer the High school does a summer lifting program that Owen attended every morning from 6:30 to 8:00.
“Waking up every morning at 5:30 was definitely a grind,” said Lamson,”but it was a perfect way to improve my strength and left me in perfect condition for the upcoming season.”
His teammates count on him every game. Sam has been playing with Owen since Freshman year and has enjoyed every second of it.
“He’s a great leader and football player and he deserves everything he’s getting.” said Bergman.
Coach Tracy Torson“Owen has evolved into one of our most valuable players and his work outside of the field shows for it”
Torson also went on to say how proud he is of Owen and has been a real pleasure to have been his coach.
“This was a phenomenal way to end Owen’s football career and one of the many milestones he will accomplish in years to come,” said Torson.
