Two Losses, Too Early

The St. Francis community mourns the loss of two members

Reid Ferugson

St. Francis Alumni Reid Winton Ferguson, Age 21 of St. Francis. died unexpectedly on December 21, 2014 in a snowmobile accident. Reid is survived by his father acting Superintendent Troy Ferguson and mother Kathryn, sisters, Tayler (Dustin) Guinn and Whitney and a multitude of family and close friends.
Ferguson was a 2012 graduate of SFHS and was a second year apprentice in the Minneapolis Plumbers Union Local 15.
“He was a dedicated and dependable worker. He loved the outdoors especially hunting, fishing, four wheeling, and horseback riding. He played football and hockey, and enjoyed spending time with nephews Isaac and Weston,” his obituary stated in the Star Tribune. A Celebration of Reid’s life was held on Saturday, December 27 in the Performing Arts Center. Donations can be made to the Reid Ferguson Memorial Scholarship Fund.
“Reid was an amazing son who was full of goodness, kindness, and respect for all he knew and loved,” his family stated in the StarTribune.

Rachael Schumacher

Senior Rachael  Schumacher died suddenly from medical complications on December 24. She would have turned 18 on January 22. Numerous family and friends posted messages on her Facebook page in memory of Rachael.
“She will be deeply missed by her parents, sister, brothers, grandparents, aunts and uncles and many loving relatives and good friends,” stated her obituary in the Star Tribune.
Her services were held at North Heights Lutheran Church in Arden Hills on Friday, January 2. Many SFHS staff members attended.
